Mona Wilcox

Mona began practicing Pilates consistently during the pandemic after her usual gyms closed. She fell in love with the mind-body connection Pilates creates and was even more impressed with the strength, mobility, and flexibility she developed.

She completed her comprehensive certification at VIDA Pilates and specializes in pre and post-natal Pilates and Pilates for athletes. Mona believes that Pilates is for everyBODY and that while it can stand on its own, Pilates is a perfect complement to every exercise routine. Her classes are fun and you’ll leave feeling stronger and taller!

Nancy Burnham

Nancy began her teaching journey in 2003 as an AFAA Certified Step Aerobics instructor. She progressed her journey and became an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer in 2006 and continued training while managing multiple VIDA locations from 2012- 2018. During this time, Nancy fell in love with Pilates as it helped her manage recovery from triathlon training, and eventually through pre and post-natal recovery. In January 2022, Nancy had the opportunity to take her practice a step further and became a 400-hour comprehensive Pilates Teacher. She enjoys teaching people the foundation of Pilates and how, when done consistently, the program can enhance any fitness routine and improve overall lifestyle.

Kelly Southall

Kelly was first introduced to the Pilates method in 2002 while studying dance at Ohio University. Coming from an Irish dance background, this method provided amazing support for the transition into Modern/Contemporary dance forms, which require more full-body awareness and a deeper understanding of movement integration.

Pilates continued to be present in various capacities throughout his 17-year career with the Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company. Upon retirement from dance, Kelly turned to Pilates as the path leading to his next movement adventure. He successfully completed his 400-hour comprehensive certification in the summer of 2022 from VIDA Pilates, and is grateful for the opportunity to explore and share this wonderful method with others!

Jeneva Hinojosa

Jeneva was first introduced to Pilates as a teenager during her dance training. After dancing for several years she noticed her body was out of alignment and started experiencing joint pain. Jeneva started taking Mat classes in 2009 in NYC and shortly after took the training to become a teacher. She has been teaching ever since. Jeneva was certified on all apparatus in 2012 and has taught in several studios in NYC and Washington, D.C. Her classes are accessible to all levels and incorporate both classical and contemporary movement. “My favorite thing about teaching is watching people experience the benefits of the Pilates and feeling better in their own body.”

Amanda Schmidt

Amanda has been in the fitness industry for over a decade and was certified in Pilates through VIDA Pilates. For her, Pilates was an instant passion. Through her own practice, she felt immediate changes in her body including pain reduction, strength, better posture, improved mood and more. She is passionate about making Pilates approachable for every type of person at every life stage. She believes that with the right customization and attention to detail, Pilates should be included in virtually every workout program to create a stable, balanced, and strong body. She is committed to making her Pilates classes not only efficient and effective, but also joyful and fun. When she isn’t in the Pilates studio, Amanda enjoys hanging out with her rescue dog and seeing Broadway musicals.

Julie Cangialosi

Julie studied ballet for over 26 years and needed an exercise method that would physically challenge her like dance once had- that was Pilates. Certified through Balanced Body, Pilates has helped Julie develop her core strength after 4 pregnancies. My style is classic with a twist but my passion is empowering people to be the best versions of themselves. Seeing my clients reach their goals is incredible but being on the journey with them and encouraging them is truly rewarding, and it has been an honor to help them.

Stefanie Williams

Stefanie was drawn to Pilates after graduating college; she grew up taking ballet classes, so it was a natural progression for me to start practicing Pilates. Stefanie received her 400-hour comprehensive Pilates certification through VIDA Pilates and really enjoyed learning more about the fundamentals of Pilates and deepening her practice. She uses her love of Pilates mat to find creativity in her reformer & tower classes – almost every class will include some time on the chair as well! Pilates provides a foundation to constantly find new challenges and she enjoys finding ways for students to gain strength to improve their everyday lives.

Joel Patton

Joel has been teaching at VIDA Fitness since 2013 initially as a group fitness & cycling instructor. After experiencing health challenges, Joel was inspired to train under the Balanced Body Pilates program in 2016 and has continued to explore his education and training ever since. Joel has a passion for education and growing not only his skill sets but for his clients. He enjoys learning about his clients and likes to foster an inclusive & joyous environment while giving clients the tools necessary to move better and feel better while continuing to master the technique for his own personal growth and achievement.

Magen Burns

Magen initially began her Pilates journey in 2018 as a student under VIDA’s own Andrea Van Zile de Leon. A lifelong athlete, Magen had developed persistent neck and back injuries that were interfering with her ability to do the physical activities she’d always enjoyed.

As Magen got deeper into her own practice, she realized this was something she wanted to share with others and completed her comprehensive Pilates certification in 2021. As a “recovering” competitive athlete Magen believes that Pilates is truly for everybody and can benefit those in need of rehabilitation, those needing to update a fitness regimen, and even elite athletes. Magen helps her students focus on individual goals and use their own Pilates practice to help them do what they love, for longer.

Andrea Van Zile de Leon, NCPT

Andrea is the Director of Vida Pilates as well as the head of Pilates Education. Teaching for over a decade and a student of the method for nearly 2 decades, her passion for Pilates has only grown stronger over the years. She received her Comprehensive Pilates certification from Core Pilates NYC and was Director of PilatesWorks NYC until 2016 when she joined the Vida Family. Specializing in injuries and illnesses, her passion is to help students learn about their body and to work with it instead of against it. Andrea’s goal is for students to leave class feeling better than when they walked in- and to stay that way forever.
